HC Deb 13 February 1911 vol 21 cc694-5
Sir WALTER MENZIES

asked what was the actual amount of the allocation given to the southern division of Lanarkshire as distinct from the whole county under the system of allocation of the Education Fund [Cd. 5407]; and what would this allocation be if that division were calculated at the same rate per pupil in average attendance as Berwickshire?

The LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. Ure)

The question appears to be based upon a misapprehension. No allocation from the Education (Scotland) Fund is made to divisions of a county as distinct from the county as a whole; nor does the allocation in any way depend upon average attendance. The method of allocation is set forth in Section 1 and 2, and is exemplified in the table on page 4, of the Minute of 1st November, 1910.
