Mr. MacCALLUM SCOTTasked the Lord Advocate whether, in view of the decision of the Court of Session in the case of Campbell's Trustees v. Sweeney, on 23rd July, and in view of the importance. to the people of Scotland as a whole of maintaining free access to the greatest fresh-water loch in, the country, and in view of the desirability of providing access to Loch Lomond from Balloch by means of public roads on either side of the River Leven, a distance of about half a mile, the Secretary for Scotland will consider whether he will provide State assistance towards this end?
§ Mr. UREI would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Dumbartonshire on this subject on 10th August. As regards the latter part of the question, the Secretary for Scotland has no power to grant State assistance of the character suggested.
