asked the President of the Board of Trade how many prosecutions have taken place under Section 3 of the Labour Exchanges Act, 1909?

Mr. BUXTON

No prosecutions have yet been instituted under Section 3 of the Labour Exchanges Act.

Mr. PEEL

Has the right hon. Gentleman taken any steps to bring the provisions of this Section to the notice of the officials concerned?

Mr. BUXTON

If the hon. Member has any particular case in mind perhaps he will communicate it to me.

Mr. PEEL

asked how many aliens have been registered at the labour exchanges from 21st July, 1910, to 28th February last, in pursuance of the instructions issued by the Labour Exchanges Department on 25th July, 1910; and in how many cases have aliens been recommended for vacancies?

I am making inquiries as to the possibility of obtaining figures on this subject, and will communicate with the hon. Member.
