HC Deb 11 April 1911 vol 24 cc233-4
Mr. WILLIAM PEEL

asked the Prime Minister whether proposed wages for Members of Parliament are to be placed on the Consolidated Fund or provided by annual Estimates; and, if so, under what class of the Civil Service Estimates will they be presented to the House?

The PRIME MINISTER

It would be premature, at this stage, to give the information for which the hon. Member asks.

Mr. PEEL

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider the question of the advisability of allowing those charges to be placed on the Estimates so that hon. Members may have the opportunity of criticising each other's services?

The PRIME MINISTER

That shall be borne in mind.

Mr. CROOKS

Will the right hon. Gentleman arrange to give us a bit on account for the holidays?

Major ARCHER-SHEE

May I ask if there will be any deductions for non-attendance?

Mr. LANSBURY

Will there be any overtime for all-night sittings?
