HC Deb 11 April 1911 vol 24 cc234-5
Mr. WILLIAM PEEL

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will give the total exports and the declared value of British-made boots and shoes to the United States of America for the years 1908, 1909, and 1910; and the exports and declared value of British-made boots and shoes to British possessions for those years?

Mr. BUXTON

I will have a detailed statement giving the information desired by the hon. Member printed in the Votes. The declared value of exports of British-made boots and shoes to the United States was £3,403 in 1908, £4,319 in 1909, and £36,118 in 1910. The corresponding figures as regards exports to all British Possessions are £1,651,125 in 1908, £1,709,572 in 1909, and £2,111,056 in 1910. [See Written Answers this date.]

Mr. WILLIAM PEEL

asked whether the right hon. Gentleman is prepared to give the total number and the declared value of British-made boots and shoes exported from this country for the years 1908, 1909, and 1910, for the use of the British Army and Navy stationed abroad?

Mr. BUXTON

I am not in a position to furnish this information, but I understand that my right hon. Friends the First Lord of the Admiralty and the Under-Secretary of State for War would both be prepared to do so as regards their separate Departments if the hon. Member will give them due notice.
