HC Deb 04 April 1911 vol 23 c2007
Mr. BOWERMAN

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he can state when it is intended to erect suitable buildings for the carrying on of the work of the Labour Exchanges, in accordance with the expressed intention of the Government when the Bill was first introduced, so that the workpeople using the exchanges may be provided with adequate accommodation inside the building instead of, as at present, being compelled to stand about on the sidewalks?

Mr. BUXTON

It was necessary at first to house Labour Exchanges in such temporary premises as could be obtained and these have, in some cases, proved unsuitable for carrying on the work of the Exchanges. The question of obtaining more suitable premises in these cases is now under consideration.
