HC Deb 29 March 1910 vol 15 c1160
Mr. O'KELLY

asked the Chief Secretary whether the tenants on the Johnston estate, known as the Camlin estate, county Roscommon, Boyle No. 1 Rural, served notice on the Congested Districts Board on the 28th of November last, through, their solicitor, asking the Board to buy the estate; whether this communication was acknowledged by Mr. Doran; why no further steps have been taken to bring about the sale to the tenants; and whether the Board will take immediate steps to have the estate inspected with a view to purchase?

Mr. BIRRELL

In this and a very large number of other cases the representations made by tenants are before the Congested Districts Board, who hope at an early date to be able to communicate with the persons concerned. Applications have been made by or on behalf of the tenants for the purchase of upwards of 700 estates.
