HC Deb 16 March 1910 vol 15 c344
Mr. FELL

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he had any reports on the condition of the beet sugar industry in Germany and France in recent years, and on the profits made by the German manufacturers of the sugar?

Mr. BUXTON

No recent reports have been received by the Board of Trade with special reference to the condition of the beet sugar industry in Germany and France. A certain amount of statistical information bearing on the subject is, however, available, and can be placed at the disposal of the hon. Member if he will indicate exactly what he requires. I may say, however, that I have no official information as to the profits of German manufacturers.

Mr. FELL

Would the information be available for me at the Board of Trade, or must I go to the Foreign Office?

Mr. BUXTON

If the hon. Gentleman will communicate with me I will see what information he desires, and I will do my very best to obtain it for him.
