asked the total amount to be spent in the financial year 1910–11 upon the five armoured ships of the British programme, and also upon the four of the German programme?

Mr. McKENNA

The reply with regard to the British ships is £350,314. It is not possible to give a definite reply in the case of the German vessels, as it is understood that the money allocated in the Estimates to a particular ship may be transferred to the account of any other ship, and the financial transfer may be carried over a period of years.
