asked what is the number of land sales under the Act of 1905 in county Clare to date, giving the number of the estates sold, the number of tenants purchasing, and the amount of purchase money paid and agreed to, together with the average number of years' purchase paid?

In direct sales under the Act of 1903 proceedings have been instituted before the Estates Commissioners for the sale of 248 estates in county Clare comprising 5,921 holdings for a total purchase money of £1,602,216, the average number of years' purchase being 20.7. Advances have been made in the case of seventy-nine of these estates, comprising 1,098 holdings, with a total purchase money of £332,147, the average number of years purchase being twenty-one. In addition the Estates Commissioners have purchased, or agreed to purchase, thirty-three estates for a total purchase money of £145,120. Of these thirteen estates have been re-sold to 215 tenants for a total sum of £79,752. Proceedings are pending for the purchase of sixteen estates by the Commissioners.
