HC Deb 24 February 1910 vol 14 c329
Mr. REES

asked whether the chiefs of Persian Baluchistan had taken any overt steps to render themselves independent of the Government of the Shah?

Sir E. GREY

The Persian Baluchi chiefs have on two occasions, in July and November last, threatened to make raids; but in both cases they were dissuaded from taking any overt action by His Majesty's Consul in Seistan, and the Political Officer at Chagai. His Majesty's Consul in Seistan has recently warned the chiefs against the danger of creating disturbances. It was also reported last month that another chief in the South was suspected of intrigues against the Central Government, but satisfactory assurances have since been received from him.
