HC Deb 21 April 1910 vol 16 cc2292-3
Captain CRAIG

asked the Chief Secretary whether he can explain the delay in vesting the Colonel Donaldson estate, Derryboye, Crossgar, county Down, in the occupiers; and when it is now expected that the sale will be completed?

Mr. BIRRELL

This estate is being dealt with in order of priority and the Commissioners hope to be in a position to complete the sale during the current year.

Captain CRAIG

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that, two years ago he gave the same answer and said it would be ready to be dealt with in a short time?

Mr. BIRRELL

I do not recollect the answer. That is an infirmity of mine.

Captain CRAIG

Is he aware that the infirmity is chronic?

Mr. BIRRELL

I am quite aware that there was great delay. It was owing to the block in getting rid of these estates.
