HC Deb 04 April 1910 vol 16 c27
Mr. BARNSTON

asked the Prime Minister whether His Majesty's Government can now give an assurance that it is their intention to extend the operation of the Agricultural Rates Act, 1905, which expires in December next?

The PRIME MINISTER

Yes, Sir, it is proposed to include the Agricultural Rates Act in the Schedule of the Expiring Laws Continuance Bill.

Mr. BYLES

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that if any relief be granted to agricultural ratepayers under the Agricultural Rates Act there would be a corresponding burden upon the urban ratepayers?

The PRIME MINISTER

Yes, I am well aware of that.
