HC Deb 28 September 1909 vol 11 cc1079-80
Mr. POINTER

asked the President of the Board of Trade what was the percent- age of Civil servants applying for positions under the Labour Exchanges compared with the total number of applications; and whether any inducement, encouragement, or pressure had been offered or applied to induce Civil servants to apply for such situations?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I am told that the applications received for posts in connection with Labour Exchanges include only a small percentage of Civil servants. The answer to the latter part of the question is in the negative.
