HC Deb 13 September 1909 vol 10 c1725
Mr. STANIER

asked the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, if he is now able to give the amounts voted for agriculture by the Governments of France, Germany, United States, and Denmark?

The TREASURER of the HOUSEHOLD (Sir Edward Strachey)

I am not yet able to give any figure for Germany. The amount voted by the Government of France is nearly £2,000,000; by the United States approximately, £3,500,000; by Denmark about £160,000.

Captain CRAIG

Can he say whether the respective Governments or Parliaments keep any control over those sums?

Sir E. STRACHEY

The hon. Member must give me notice of that question.
