§ Mr. BOLANDasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he can state whether payment of the increased Stamp Duties, under Sections 52 and 53 of the Finance Bill, are payable from the date on which the Resolutions dealing with the Clauses were passed, or does the increase only take effect when the Bill becomes law?
§ Mr. HOBHOUSEI may refer the hon. Member to the reply given by my right hon. Friend on the 16th ultimo to a similar question by my hon. Friend the Member for East Grinstead in which he stated that the new Stamp Duties would come into force on the passing of the Finance Bill.
