HC Deb 02 September 1909 vol 10 c548
Mr. LYTTELTON (for Sir Gilbert Parker)

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has received from the council of the Royal Colonial Institute a communication calling attention to the effect upon persons residing in different parts of the Empire outside the United Kingdom of the provision of Section 50 of the Finance Bill, which excludes such persons from exemption or abatement; and whether the views set forth by the council will receive favourable consideration?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The communication is receiving the attention of my right hon. Friend.
