§ Mr. REESasked whether any statistics were available by comparison with which the work of the Indian police might be compared with that of the police of other Governments and Administrations in Asia; whether the British system which had been as far as possible introduced into India depends to a great extent upon the co-operation of the educated classes; and whether the police reports last received from Bengal and the Punjab indicated that such co-operation was wanting?
