HC Deb 04 November 1909 vol 12 c1996
Mr. BELLOC

asked the President of the Board of Education if he will state on what grounds recognition is still refused to the Catholic school at Low Valley?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

In March, 1908, certain persons gave notice of their intention to provide a new Catholic school at Low Valley. An appeal against the proposal under Section 8 of the Education Act, 1902, was lodged with the Board by the local education authority. A copy of this appeal was forwarded to the promoters of the school on 11th May, 1908, with a request that the Board might be furnished with the observations of the promoters on the appeal. The promoters were reminded, last May, that no reply had been furnished to the Board's letter. As no reply is yet forthcoming the Board have taken no further action in the matter.
