§ Mr. JOHN MURPHY (for Mr. Delany)asked the Secretary to the Treasury if he will explain the circumstances under which the salary of Mr. Williams, the Secretary of the Board of Works, Dublin, was increased from£700 to£800 per annum, and whether an attempt is being made to further increase this official's salary; and can he state what action the Treasury proposes to take in the matter?
§ The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Hobhouse)Mr. Williams' salary was specially raised to£800 in 1904 on grounds of special merit. No suggestion for increasing that salary is now under consideration, as far as I know.
