§ Mr. DILLONasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he would lay upon the Table of the House a copy of the Press Law, which has lately been revived in Egypt?
§ Sir E. GREYThe law in question was laid before Parliament in 1882, and the hon. Member will find the text of it in Parliamentary Paper Egypt No. 5 of that year, from page 18 onwards. A reference to page 4 of Sir Eldon Gorst's last annual Report will show that it is only intended to revive those sections of the law which concern the registration and control of news-papers and the presses where they are printed.
