HC Deb 18 May 1909 vol 5 c217
Mr. WILES

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will state when he proposes to put in force the recommendations contained in the Report of the Committee on the Police Forces (Weekly Rest Day) with regard to granting one day's rest in seven to the men in the Metropolitan and City Police Forces?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. Herbert Gladstone)

The recommendations of this Committee are of great administrative importance, and they require my full consideration, which they are receiving.

Mr. JOHN ELLIS

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the recommendations of the Committee were perfectly unanimous?

Mr. GLADSTONE

I am perfectly aware of that.
