Motion made, and Question put: "That the like obligation to execute a contract note shall have effect, and the like stamp duty shall be charged—

  1. (a) in the case of a contract under which an option is given to purchase or sell any stock or marketable security at a future time at a certain price; and
  2. 370
  3. (b) in the case of the sale or purchase of any stock or marketable security by a person who, by way of business, deals or holds himself out as dealing as a principal in stocks and marketable securities;
as in the case of the sale or purchase of any stock or marketable security by a broker or agent."—[Mr. Lloyd-George.]
