HC Deb 18 May 1909 vol 5 c208
Mr. LUPTON

asked the Under-Secrete of State for the Colonies if he is aware that the nephew of Mr. Percy Ropes, of Moratuwa, was compulsorily vaccinated when in ill-health, and if he subsequently expired; and if he will take steps to prevent the compulsory vaccination of people in Ceylon

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for the COLONIES (Colonel Seely)

I have no official information as to the matter referred to by my hon. Friend, but the Governor will be asked for a report. As regards the last part of the question, the Secretary of State has no evidence before him to show that his intervention is necessary or desirable.
