asked the Secretary of State for War how much had been expended on field telephones during the last three years, distinguishing the amounts paid for instruments of British and foreign manufacture?

The figures for the period from 26th July, 1907, to date are as follow:?

Wholly British manufacture £147 13 1
Wholly Foreign manufacture 1,565 14 0
Partly British and partly foreign manufacture 16 4 10½
Total £1,729 11 11½

As I pointed out to the hon. Member on the 6th instant, the telephones were all ordered from firms in the United Kingdom.
