HC Deb 17 May 1909 vol 5 c28
Mr. WATT

asked the Lord Advocate whether in the Dundee Sheriff Court, in administering the Sheriff Courts (Scotland) and the Small Debt Acts, adjournments are made from time to time in cases where no defence is lodged, and that similar delays take place in cases where defenders do not dispute the claims; and whether, in view of the fact that these methods are in direct contravention of the procedure laid down in the statutes mentioned, he will take any action

The LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. Ure)

I am not aware that irregularities of the kind referred to in my hon. Friend's question have taken place in the Dundee Sheriff Court, but if he will inform me of any specific instances I shall make inquiry into them.
