§ Mr. WATTasked the Lord Advocate if he will grant a Return of the number of cases heard in the first division of the Court of Session during the last 12 months, showing in how many of these more than three months elapsed between the dates of hearing the cases and the dates of judgments?
§ Mr. UREI cannot see that any useful purpose would be served by granting such a return as my hon. Friend asks. The 1814 mere length of time which elapses between the date of hearing and of judgment in cases the length, difficulty and importance of which are not given, would be of no value.
§ Mr. WATTDoes the right hon. Gentleman say that congestion does not exist, and that it does not delay the judges?
