HC Deb 10 May 1909 vol 4 cc1442-3
Mr. DEVLIN

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he was aware that at a demonstration organised by the Belfast Trades Council on 1st May instant, a resolution was unanimously passed in favour of the extension of the Trade Boards Bill to Belfast, on the ground that the need for such boards was greater in Ireland than in any other part of the three kingdoms; and whether he would have regard to this public expression of Irish trades union opinion in the future stages of the Bill?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I have seen the Resolution to which the hon. Member refers in a Press report of the demonstration. Full weight will be given to this and to other expressions of Irish opinion with regard to the application of the Trade Boards Bill to Ireland.
