HC Deb 04 May 1909 vol 4 c892
Mr. RENWICK

asked the Prime Minister whether he can state when it is intended to introduce the practical legislative proposals for dealing with the question of unemployment promised in his letter of 19th September last to the electors of Newcastle-on-Tyne?

The PRIME MINISTER

The Bill for establishing a system of labour exchanges will, I hope, be shortly introduced; and, as the hon. Member is aware, the Trade Boards Bill, which has an important bearing on the question of unemployment, is already before the House. Further legislative and financial proposals of the Government for dealing with the same question were outlined by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer in his Budget statement.
