§ Mr. HALDANETransvaal silver was used to some extent for the payment of British troops, and arrangements were made by which the payees could secure exchange at face value in South Africa. I have no information as to any difficulties now existing, and should be glad if my hon. Friend would communicate with me as to any cases within his knowledge.
