HC Deb 29 March 1909 vol 3 cc34-5
Mr. BOWLES

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has received a request, dated 12th February last, from the secretary of the Wholesale Tobacconists Protection Association, asking him to receive a deputation of members of that association from different parts of the country; and whether he can consent to receive such a deputation?

Sir JOHN BRUNNER

Would it not be more convenient that a question of this character should be addressed to the Minister privately, so as to save the time of the House?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

My right hon. Friend thinks the letter in question must have been miscarried; but he will be glad to consider the association's request if they will communicate with him again.
