HC Deb 29 March 1909 vol 3 cc4-5
Mr. LONSDALE

asked whether the work connected with the Royal Irish Fusiliers depot at Armagh requires the services of more than one sergeant-major; and whether he will cause special inquiry to be made into the circumstances in which one of the three sergeant-majors attached to the depot, while drawing full pay, has been carrying on a carpenter's business in Monaghan since October last?

Mr. HALDANE

As I have already told the hon. Member on two previous occasions, there is only one sergeant-major on the establishment at the headquarters of this battalion. As regards the last part of the question I will cause inquiries to be made.
