HC Deb 29 March 1909 vol 3 c36
Mr. LONSDALE

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland how many applicants for holdings on lands purchased by the Estates Commissioners were rejected by the Commissioners during 1907 and 1908 on the ground that they had been convicted or bound to the peace for cattle-driving?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners inform me that they do not give farms to applicants who have been guilty of cattle-driving. They have no record of such persons whose applications for farms have been refused
