HC Deb 04 March 1909 vol 1 c1564
Mr. WILLIAM REDMOND

asked whether the Estates Commissioners will consider the advisability of acquiring the untenanted lands on the O'Grady Delmage estate, county Clare, for the purpose of increasing the holdings of the small farmers in the district and giving farms to suitable applicants?

Mr. BIRRELL

Up to the present no proceedings have been instituted before the Estates Commissioners for the sale of the lands referred to. It is not proposed to acquire the lands compulsorily. The lands are of poor quality and would not be suitable for evicted tenants.
