HC Deb 28 June 1909 vol 7 cc14-5
Mr. KILBRIDE (in the absence of Mr. Boland)

asked the President of the Board of Education whether, in view of the steps taken to provide the necessary school accommodation at St. George's Roman Catholic School, Nelson, and that neither grants nor rate aid have been given since 19th February, 1906, he will say what steps he proposes to take to remedy this grievance?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Runciman)

The St. George's Roman Catholic School is at present recognised as an infants' school. The Board have, on more than one occa- sion, informed the managers that before the school can be recognised as a school for older children as well as for infants the requirements of section 8 of the Education Act, 1902, must be complied with.
