asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, when a farm held on an annual tenancy is re-let at a higher rent, this increase of rent is to be subject to increment duty?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

I may refer the hon. Member to Clause 1 (a) of the Finance Bill, under which no tenancy for a term of years less than seven years attracts Increment Value Duty.
