HC Deb 28 June 1909 vol 7 c23
Mr. JOHN REDMOND

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he is aware that Michael Cooney, the chief electrician at Humberstone, who died from the effect of injuries sustained while on duty on the 8th June, left a widow and child unprovided for; and whether, in view of the fact that this man received the injuries which caused his death whilst in discharge of his duties, any grant or pension will be made to his widow?

Mr. McKENNA

Since the hon. and learned Gentleman placed his question on the Paper, an application has been received from Cooney's widow, and it is under consideration with a view to the grant to her of a pension from the funds of Greenwich Hospital.
