HC Deb 29 July 1909 vol 8 cc1342-3
Mr. KILBRIDE (on behalf of Mr. Joyce)

asked whether the Estates Commissioners received an application for reinstatement from the representative of the late Michael Russell, who was evicted by Lord Lansdowne from the lands of Coolraine North, liberties of Limerick; whether steps have been taken for the sale of this estate to the tenants; and whether before sanctioning the sale, the Estates Commissioners will make provision for the reinstatement of the evicted tenants?

Mr. CHERRY

The Estates Commissioners have received an application from Miss Maria Russell in respect of a holding on this estate at one time occupied by her father and now in the occupation of another tenant. The application has not been inquired into, as it was not lodged within the time prescribed by the Evicted Tenants Act. Proceedings for the sale of the estate were instituted under the Irish Land Act, 1903, in October last, and when the estate is being inspected inquiry will be made into Miss Russell's application.
