HC Deb 26 July 1909 vol 8 cc833-4
Mr. CONDON (for Mr. John Roche)

asked the Postmaster-General whether, as the Loughrea Rural District Council has given the guarantee desired by the postal authorities in reference to establishing telegraphic communication between Ballymacward and Gurteen, county Galway, he will now see that the project is carried out?

Mr. BUXTON

The office at Ballymacward was opened for telegraph business on the 14th instant, and another telegraph office in the same neighbourhood, namely, at Menlough, will snortly be opened. It seems doubtful whether it would be worth while to open a telegraph office at Gurteen, even under guarantee, but the case is being considered.
