HC Deb 07 July 1909 vol 7 c1204
Mr. WEIR

asked the Lord Advocate whether it is the practice of the Congested Districts (Scotland) Board to hold land either temporarily or permanently in order to let it to crofter tenants; and, if so, will the Board now abandon the idea of finding a purchaser for the Kilmuir estate on the lines set forth on page 8 of the recently issued Report?

The LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. Ure)

The Board cannot be said to have any practice in the matter, as the question has only arisen at Kilmuir and in Vatersay; and the position in regard to Kilmuir remains as indicated in the Report referred to.
