asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he had received particulars of a deliberate attempt to shoot a farmer named O'Brien and his wife at Carrownagleary, in the Lisdoonvarna district. county Clare, on the night of 23rd June; and whether any persons had been arrested in connection with this agrarian outrage?

On the night of the 17th June four revolver shots were fired into the house of Michael O'Brien, two of which struck the canopy over his bed, and one pierced the bed clothes. The police have not as yet succeeded in making any arrests, but active inquiries are being made with a view of tracing the offenders.
