§ Mr. MORTONasked whether the Agricultural Holdings Act, 1906, which came into force on 1st January, 1909, is now in active operation; whether the Act has done anything to protect the tenant farmer; and whether any steps have been taken to make it generally known among tenant farmers that the Act is now in force?
§ Sir E. STRACHEYWe have issued a leaflet calling attention to the provisions of this Act, and I shall be pleased to send my hon. Friend a copy of it. The Act came into operation in January last, and it is at present too early to estimate the extent to which farmers are likely to avail themselves of its provisions.
