HC Deb 19 August 1909 vol 9 c1525
Mr. CLELAND

asked the Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been directed to the shortage of water during the recent Territorial training on Salisbury Plain; whether he proposes to take steps to remedy the same; and, if so, what steps?

The SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Mr. Haldane)

It appears on inquiry that the demand this year for water has been abnormal, and the supply from the wells has not been sufficient to allow continuous supply. The General Officer Commanding is reporting fully on the matter, and on receipt of his Report the question of what steps are to be taken will be considered.
