MR. O'GRADY

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he is aware that the Punjab Government has sanctioned the institution of an exhibition of handlooms, with a school of weaving, to be managed by the Salvation Army at Ludhiana, Amrit- sar, or Sialkot; if so, has he any information as to the amount of money, if any, voted for the purpose; whether any of the money has been allocated to the Salvation Army for management; and, if so, on what grounds the Salvation Army were selected to superintend and manage the exhibition and school.

MR. BUCHANAN

The Secretary of State has seen in the newspapers a statement to the effect set forth in the Question. He has no further information on the subject, but he will inquire.
