I beg to ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, whether he can state the number of Land Commissioners employed under the Small Holdings Act; what is their salary; how often do they report; what are the hours they are expected to give to their department; and how many days per week are they so engaged.

SIR EDWARD STRACHEY

Two Commissioners are employed at a salary of £1,200 per annum. They report daily and are subject to the Rules and Regulations of the Civil Service.
