I beg to ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, whether he can state the number of persons who comprise this Board and their names, how often do they meet, the dates upon which they have met during this year, and the place of meeting; whether he can state the average number of hours per meeting the Board is occupied with the deliberations of its Department; and how many of the members of the Board are Members of this House.

SIR EDWARD STRACHEY

The Board consists of eleven members, namely: a President, the President of the Council, the principal Secretaries of State, the First Lord of the Treasury, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, and the Secretary for Scotland. Six are Members of this House. There is no record of the Board, as such, having ever met.
