I beg to ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, what counties in England and Wales have neither acquired land nor submitted schemes under the Small Holdings Act.

The counties which have neither acquired land nor submitted schemes are:—England: Cumberland, Derby, Hereford, Lancashire. London, Middlesex, Monmouth, Suffolk West, Surrey, Sussex East, Sussex West, Warwick, York (North Riding). Wales: Brecon, Cardigan, Carnarvon, Flint, Glamorgan, Merioneth, Pembroke. I should add, however, that many of them are in active negotiation for the acquisition of land.
