To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer what proportion of the National Debt is represented by valuable assets, such as buildings, lands, docks, telegraphs, etc.

(Answered by Mr. Lloyd-George.) I beg to refer my hon. friend to the statement given on page 94 of the Finance Accounts of the United Kingdom, which shows the assets of a definite cash value. No estimate has been made of the value of the rest.
