MR. PIKE PEASEI beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for India what are the terms of the Fair Wages Clause in contracts placed by the Indian Government in Great Britain or on the Continent of Europe; and what means are taken to secure its enforcement.

When complaint is made to the Department that the clause is not being carried out, an inquiry is made, and if the complaint is substantiated the firm would be compelled to observe the clause.
