HC Deb 16 November 1908 vol 196 cc840-1
MR. NANNETTI (Dublin, College Green)

To ask the Postmaster-General, whether the increased pay recommended by the Parliamentary Committee to auxiliary rural postmen in Ireland has yet been paid to them; if not, when will it; and whether it will be retrospective from the date of the recommendation.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) Instructions to pay the higher rates have been given at a number of offices in Ireland, and the work of checking the claims from the remaining offices is proceeding as rapidly as possible. It will be completed very shortly. The higher rates of pay take effect from 1st January, 1908.
